Puppy Education

Your influence on your new puppy begins the moment that you meet.  The first 16 weeks of a puppy's life are the most critical, this is when they develop most of their behaviors, attitudes, and opinions.  It is essential to get an early start on training to prevent future problems and unwanted behavior.  New puppy owners often spend more energy finding the right accessories, treats, toys, or bed, instead of thinking about how they will teach their new puppy to adjust to home living.

Millions of pets are surrendered and euthanized every year simply because their owners influenced incorrect behavior and did not establish effective communication.  K9 Elements will assist you in raising a well-socialized and well-mannered dog.  We want your dog to be a life-long companion, not a statistic.  Remember, it is easier to start good habits early than to change bad habits later on.

Puppies should complete a Puppy Education session as early as 8 weeks of age, yet no later than 14 weeks of age.  During the two hour session at your home... we will offer guidance based on your puppy's unique temperament, personality type, and breed; address any behavioral issues; fit your puppy with proper training equipment; and discuss your future goals for your puppy.

At your Puppy Education session, we will also provide you with a Puppy Manual full of tips and advice.  After your session, we provide unlimited phone and e-mail support until your puppy is ready to start an obedience training program.

Topics covered during your session include...

  • House Breaking
  • Proper Handling
  • Biting/Nipping
  • Jumping
  • Walking on a Leash
  • Socialization
  • Confidence Building
  • Feeding/Nutrition
  • Basic Grooming
