John Alex, Certified Master Trainer and co-owner of K9 Elements, began his training career in Rochester, NY.  Pursuing his love of dogs, his very first job was as kennel staff at a local dog resort.  He continued to work his way up and eventually began training.  He went on to apprentice with a local professional trainer and gained hands-on, practical experience.  After contemplating a different career path, he decided that working with dogs was his passion.  John Alex succeeded in obtaining Master Trainer certification from the internationally recognized National K-9 Learning Center in Columbus, Ohio, with certifications in the fields of Obedience, Tracking, Scent Detection, Personal Protection, Retrieval, and Assistance Dog Training.

John Alex is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, the National K9 Dog Trainers Association, and is an AKC CGC® Approved Evaluator. 

John Alex hopes to add to his pack by adopting a French Bulldog in the near future.

Melissa Naval, Certified Master Trainer and co-owner of K9 Elements, surrounded herself with pets as a child, including dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, hamsters, birds, fish, and turtles.  Always passionate about all animals, she specifically felt a bond with dogs.  Although on a different career path at one point, she stayed close to dogs, whether it be by dog-sitting or fostering homeless dogs.  It wasn't until she rescued her dog Jade that she realized that working with dogs was her true calling.  Melissa succeeded in obtaining Master Trainer certification from the internationally recognized National K-9 Learning Center in Columbus, Ohio, with certifications in the fields of Obedience, Tracking, Scent Detection, Personal Protection, Retrieval, and Assistance Dog Training.

Melissa had the pleasure of featuring her dog Jade on the Conan O'Brien show, as well as in the short film Sheltered by CineBex Productions.  

Melissa is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, the National K9 Dog Trainers Association, and is an AKC CGC® Approved Evaluator.

Melissa is knowledgeable in the system of Canine Kinaesthetics™ and is working towards certification as a Canine Massage Therapist.
